COUNSELLING
For those who prefer straight talk therapy, Able Art Therapy can provide direct [talk] counselling as short-term, early intervention support for people experiencing mild to moderate distress or life challenges. This service sits within a stepped care framework and focuses on strengthening coping skills, emotional wellbeing, and day-to-day functioning.

Sessions offer a supportive, non-clinical space to explore current concerns, develop practical strategies, and build resilience. Support is goal-oriented, time-limited, and tailored to individual needs.

Counselling may support people experiencing:
-
stress, anxiety, or low mood
-
adjustment to life changes or transitions
-
relationship or work-related challenges
-
early signs of emotional distress
-
increased vulnerability without acute risk
Our counselling is trauma-aware, person-centred, and strengths-based, and may draw on approaches such as psychoeducation, CBT-informed strategies, mindfulness, and emotional regulation skills, where appropriate. Where a person’s needs extend beyond the scope of this service, referrals and pathways to more intensive or specialised care are discussed collaboratively, in line with NSW Health guidelines.
